Hello Hexers! We’ve been looking through all your feedback, and we are very pleased with how well the Corinth vs Corinth Merry Melee mode has gone over. This wacky format strikes a nice balance between strategy and unpredictable gameplay for a truly unique Hexperience—exactly the kind of thing we are aiming for with our new Merry Melee series. As we’ve mentioned before, our goal for the Merry Melee is to have a collection of events which rotate so you will always have a way to play off-the-wall formats while at the same time keeping things fresh. Here are just a few of the upcoming Merry Melee modes we have up our sleeves:
We will save more details for our big reveal article, but suffice to say we haven’t been slouching on dreaming up dreamy modes for you to enjoy.
These new modes are just around the corner, but until they launch we have decided not to leave you hanging. We will be bringing the Corinth vs Corinth queues back (starting today at 10am Pacific) until the next Merry Melee format can be patched in. As a reminder, here is how Corinth vs Corinth works:
In this mode you don’t select a deck and you don’t select a champion. Instead, you are given a predetermined deck of 20 resources (4 copies of each standard shard – [BLOOD] [WILD] [DIAMOND] [RUBY] [SAPPHIRE] ), and the champion Corinth the Iconoclast.
You will then use her powers to create and choose cards—essentially building your deck on the fly. Only careful choices, a bit of luck, and quick thinking will grant victory over your opponents.
The Corinth vs Corinth mode will be available via an on-demand, gauntlet queue for the duration of the event. The gauntlet uses a best of one match system and will continue until you have 5 wins or 3 losses, whichever comes first. At the end of your gauntlet, players will receive a payout based on their record.
Cost: 100 Platinum
Length: Gauntlet (5 wins / 3 losses)
Match: Best of one
In addition, winning a total of 10 games across our Corinth events (your wins will persist from last week) will reward this gorgeous animated sleeve!
Any gauntlets not completed at the end of the Merry Melee rotation will pay out their current record worth of prizes. We will announce ahead of time when that is, so stay tuned here and on social media for more news about the Merry Melee modes coming your way!
See you in the Battlegrounds~
