Merry Melee Rotation

Ryan Sutherland, aka HexRysu, here with the latest Merry Melee format! We have several exciting modes lined up, and this week’s is EPIC SPELL WARZ!!! In what’s one of the most bizarre Merry Melee’s we’ve got planned, this mode starts both players as Frenzied Zakiir:

Frenzied Zakiir

But that’s not all! You also get a smattering of thresholds and… an empty deck.

So, game over, right? Well, not quite. Frenzied Zakiir has an ability that makes it so that you don’t draw cards. Instead, if you would draw a card, you get two random actions put into your hand. Also, at the start of your turn, you get a charge and an extra resource point. Your charges can go towards building up a Skarn army while you leverage all of the free actions you’re getting to beat up on your opponent. It’s a wild time!

Merry Melee Epic Spell Warz

Format: Frenzied Zakiir
Cost: 100 Platinum
Length: Gauntlet (5 wins / 3 losses)
Match: Best of one
Prizes:

  • 3 Wins – Random Standard Rare
  • 4 Wins – Current Set Booster Pack
  • 5 Wins – Current Set Booster Pack and Random Standard Rare

As always, winning ten games of this week’s format will earn you the exclusive Zakiir sleeve, in all its frenzied glory:

Epic Spell Warz is live now and will run for 1 week (ending Friday 6/1 at 10am PT). So, limber up your wands and keep a bead on your opponents! It’s spell-slinging time.

Splitting Policy Update

We have gotten a number of inquiries regarding splitting in our new Bash & Clash tournaments. We would like to take a moment and make sure everyone is on the same page with regards to acceptable splitting behavior. So long as both parties follow the rules outlined in our Tournament Policy document, splitting within the Bash and Clash is allowed. As a top heavy event, it is understandable if players might wish to reach an agreement in their final round.

That said, our stance on splitting remains the same. First, players should be aware that nothing in-game supports facilitation of splits and that HEX Entertainment will not enforce, assist with, or reverse prize splitting in any way. Any negotiations between you and your opponent are at your own risk. Second, prize splitting is %100 optional. If you offer a split and your opponent declines, they have the final word. Any amount of harassment about the issue is a punishable offense.

We hope this clears things up for those looking to win big this weekend.

Pappy Jasper’s Prize Patrol

Finally, we want to give a shout out to some exceptional community work courtesy of Blackwood. They are posting elaborate, thematic, and wacky Siege defenses with prize conditions. Carrying on in the tradition of the 1234 Siege defenses by Mystery, Blackwood is giving out prizes based on Pappy’s presents provided you can prevail while preventing Pappy’s death. It is sweet and fun, and you should give it a try! Full details on this community giveaway can be found here, but even if you don’t dive in yourself, you should be sure to leave some kind words to Blackwood for running this event. Great stuff!

See you in the Battlegrounds~
