Hi HEXers! We’re happy to announce that Closed Beta will begin on April 23rd, 2014. Of course, this requires a few odds and ends to fall into place, but as of today we’re confident that we’ll have those wrapped up and the client will be ready on Wednesday. As for what time we’re opening Beta, that’s yet to be decided. We’ll be announcing any news on the HEX Twitter account as soon as we’re able to set that time.
So, the current target date is 4/23/14. There may be some unforeseen issue that causes us to delay it, but we don’t see any of those problems at this time. Though we said we’d be closing Alpha, we’re going to keep that open until the Beta is up and running.
You’ve already received one email from us earlier in the week, and that was to communicate that we’ve mirrored your accounts to our live beta hardware. Even if you didn’t play in HEX Alpha, you had an account created when we sent invites in Fall 2013. This account was tied to the email address that Kickstarter had on file at the close of the campaign (unless you requested a change through our customer service). So, that is your account email. You likely don’t have your alpha invitation email at this point in time, so you can recover your password via the HEXTCG website. Some users have had some difficulty with doing that, and we’ve been looking into those errors. If you experience a problem while trying to reset your password, please post it in our bug report forums.
Next week, you’ll receive a second email that provides your Kickstarter code for redemption, as well as information about what Closed Beta means to you, the players. So, keep a lookout for that. We’ll also be hosting that information on HEXTCG.com.
Alpha Patch v0.9
We patched yesterday to introduce some fixes to Swiss style tournaments, tightened up some UI elements, and introduced the Stash. The Stash is where all your non-cards live like treasure chests, booster packs, mercenaries, and the like.
When you redeem your reward codes, this is where everything that’s not a card will land. We’ll have more on code redemption on Wednesday.
You Like These Apples
Our very talented art director Tyler James is currently at Wondercon in Anaheim, CA. If you would like to say ‘hello,’ ask him questions about HEX, and see some HEX art in person, head to Booth AA-170. He would love to meet you all.
That’s all from us this week. Thanks again for your continued support of HEX. Please leave any questions or comments in the forums linked below, and don’t forget to Like us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitch, register on our forums, and Follow us on Twitter.
