New Features

  • Shattered Destiny, the second set of HEX: Shards of Fate, is now available
    • New Keywords (Lethal, Skyguard, and Tunneling) can be found on troops. Please see the set FAQ for more information on those keywords.
    • Some troops have Double Socketing, this allows you to place two gems in one card
    • Five new champions have been added for Shattered Destiny
  • Image streaming and quality has been improved
  • Tournament entry fees and prizes have been updated to account for Shattered Destiny release
  • Constructed tournaments now allow Shattered Destiny for deck construction
  • Two-player constructed queue is now live, play in this queue to test your decks in best of three matches with reserves
  • “The Chain” UI has been enhanced and is now prominently placed across the middle of the gameboard
    • Cards that have the same attributes will now stack on each other to save space before the gameboard starts to scale down cards

General:

  • The Champion Selection UI has been updated to accommodate future releases
  • PvP Champions are now called “Legends” and can be found with “Mercenaries” and “Heroes” (PvE Champions) in the Champion Selection UI
  • You can now sort your champions by name, shard, or set
  • You can now toggle the ability text of a champion on or off in the Champion Selection UI
  • Mail UI has been improved
  • Card Scaling has been optimized
  • Card linking in chat has been improved
  • Friends list now looks correct while in the tournament page
  • A new error message is shown when a player attempts to attach more currency than they own
  • Scroll bar for select deck in proving grounds has been fixed
  • Added an “Exit Game” button to the login screen
  • Updated the login screen with Shattered Destiny imagery
  • You will now receive a system mail if your auction has been bought out from other bidders
  • You can now open up messages that exceed your initial view in mail
  • You can now remove unwanted attachments while composing mail
  • Saving a new deck no longer improperly displays all errors in the deck immediately
  • Games in progress in Proving Grounds now appears correctly for higher resolutions
  • Cancel button in settings now correctly reverts unwanted changes
  • Hovering over a Champion portrait in game will now display that Champion’s name.
  • All minor gems now have the word “Minor” at the start of their name
  • All major gems have replaced the word “Prime” with “Major” in their name

  • New Hotkey for “Pass all my priorities until end of this turn (except declare defenders)”, set to F10 by default

  • Pass priority buttons no longer incorrectly show up for both players simultaneously

  • Palamedes the Righteous is now just named “Palamedes

  • The tournament lobby interface has moved down slightly so it does not run into the global navigation

  • Champion Portrait in the Card Manager shows off champion images better
  • The “Artifact” Shard filter in the Card Manager/Create Auction screen has been renamed to “Shardless” to better reflect the intention of this filter

    • Constant effects that modify other cards (such as the one on Command Tower) no longer show relationship lines with themselves
    • The size of the Champion portrait has been slightly reduced to make more room for gameplay
    • The resource counter and threshold icons have been moved back to the left side of the gameboard
    • The center of the gameboard now has an improved phase icon indicator
    • The deck pedestal has been moved into the right corner of the gamescreen to make more room for gameplay
    • The card count of the Graveyard now only appears when there is at least one card in the Graveyard
    • The gameboard image is now crisper and slightly zoomed out
    • Threshold gems now rotate and have an improved glow effect
    • The AI no longer will draw zero cards with Oracle Song
    • The Shards of Fate set is now correctly named, rather than “Set001”
    • VIP Tournament tickets are now black to help distinguish them from other tickets
    • The loading animation in the Card Manager no longer has that terrible pink nuclear symbol
    • Players that are offline at the start of a tournament match will now correctly receive 5 min to reconnect instead of losing the game immediately
    • Wheel of Fate rewards will no longer incorrectly grant you sleeves you already have
    • Players who are part of the VIP program will now receive Shattered Destiny boosters as their weekly booster
    • You can now correctly cancel out of the multiple pack opening UI

Gameplay – General:

  • Fixed an issue that would cause the first player to skip their turn
  • Resources and Actions transformed by Trial of Faith no longer stay in play when reverted
  • Doppelgadget no longer gains multiple instances of its effect text
  • Counters are now removed correctly from cards when they transform
  • Legionnaire of Gawaine no longer keeps track of total times inspired
  • Howling Ambush can no longer be played without a target
  • Venus Fly Gorger now has cost 4, up from cost 3
  • Card Linking for Vampire King has been fixed
  • Gearsmith’s ability is now correctly optional
    • Pterobot now reads: “Flight This has cost -(1) in all zones for each Dwarf and/or Robot you control.”
    • Pterobot no longer incorrectly retains its ability after becoming transformed by Cosmic Transmogrifier
    • Cards will now correctly hold their modifications when transformed by Cosmic Transmogrifier
    • Major Blood Orb of Brutality now works correctly with Pheromones

Gameplay – Effects that Shuffle cards into your deck, now randomly place cards into your deck.

  • Briarpatch Conjuror now reads: “[ACT] → Add a seed counter to this troop, then create a Briar Legion for each seed counter on this card and put them into your deck.”
  • Chronic Madness now reads: “Bury the top 4 cards of target champion’s deck. Escalation – Put this action into your deck, then add 4 to the bold number of all your Chronic Madnesses in all zones.”
  • Cosmic Totem now reads: “(1), Void this → Put target champion’s graveyard into target champion’s deck.”
  • Crash of Beasts now reads: “Create 1 Rhinoceros and put it into play. Escalation – Put this action into your deck, then add 1 to the bold number of all your Crash of Beasts in all zones.
  • Eternal Youth now reads: “Gain 4 health. Escalation – Put this into your deck, then add 4 to the bold number of all your Eternal Youths in all zones.”
  • Hero of Adamanth now reads: “As this enters play, reveal the top ten cards of your deck. For each Human revealed this way, this gets +2[ATK]/+2[DEF]. Put the revealed cards into your deck.”
  • Loregoyle now reads: “Defensive, Flight (2) → put target card in a graveyard into that champion’s deck.”
  • Pack Raptor now reads: “Swiftstrike When this enters play, create four Pack Raptors and put them into your deck. This troop has +1[ATK]/+1[DEF] for each other Pack Raptor you control.”
  • Protectorate Defender now reads: SOCKETABLE MAJOR When this dies, put it into your deck.”
  • Ragefire now reads: “Deal 2 damage to target champion or troop. Escalation – Put this into your deck, then add 2 to the bold number of all your Ragefires in all zones.”
  • Reginald Lancashire now reads: “When Reginald deals damage to an opposing champion, put him into their deck and he gets “When Reginald enters your hand or graveyard, he destroys you.” Then, each champion draws three cards.”
  • Relentless Corruption now reads: “Put the top 1 card of target opposing champion’s deck into your hand. The thresholds of those cards all become [BLOOD]. Escalation – Put this into your deck, then add 1 to the bold number of all your Relentless Corruptions in all zones.”
  • Replicator’s Gambit now reads: “Put target troop you control into your deck. It gets “When this enters play, create six replicas of this and put them into play.” Draw a card.”
  • Sabotage now reads: “Create four Booby Traps and put them into target opposing champion’s deck.”
  • Tetzot, Son of Omoc now reads: “[RUBY]: [BASIC] [6] → Reveal the top ten cards of your deck. Create a Rock Elemental, and it gets +1[ATK]/+1[DEF] for each resource revealed this way. Put that Rock Elemental into play. Put the revealed cards into your deck.”
  • The Ancestors’ Chosen now reads: “At the start of your turn, create two Ancestral Specters and put them into your deck.”
  • Time Bug now reads: Flight Put two Time Bugs you control that dealt damage to an opposing champion this turn into your deck → Take an additional turn after this one.”
  • Verdant Wyldeboar now reads: “Speed At end of turn, put this into your deck. If you do, this gets +4[ATK]/+4[DEF], then loses this power.”
  • Wild Growth now reads: “Target troop gets +3[ATK]/+3[DEF] this turn. This gets cost (0). Put this into your deck.”

Gameplay – The ability “Can’t be blocked” is now called “Unblockable”

  • Infiltrator Bot now reads: “(1) → This gets Unblockable this turn.”
  • Eldritch Dreamer now reads: “SOCKETABLE MAJOR Unblockable.”
  • Xentoth’s Chosen now reads: “As an additional cost to play this, sacrifice two troops. Unblockable.”

Gameplay – Trait Line Changes

  • Angel now has the traits: “Avatar”
  • Abomination now has the traits: “Undead Zombie Abomination”
  • Argus, Herald of Doom now has the traits: “Construct”
  • Bone Warrior now has the traits: “Undead Skeleton”
  • Chaos Key now has the traits: “Chaostouched”
  • Determined Zombie now has the traits: “Undead Zombie”
  • Eldritch Dreamer now has the traits: “Chaostouched”

  • Elimination Specialist now reads: “This enters play with a rocket counter for each artifact you control. [BASIC] Remove a rocket counter from this → This deals 1 damage to target troop. At end of turn, remove all rocket counters from this.”
  • Goblin Cooking Pot now reads: “[BASIC] (2), Sacrifice this → This deals 1 damage to each opposing champion. They each lose a charge and choose and discard a card.”
  • Legionnaire of Gawaine now reads: “When this enters play, for each card that inspired it, it deals 1 damage to each opposing champion and troop.”
  • Malfunctioning War Bot now reads: “At the start of your turn, this deals 1 damage to a random champion.”
  • Sadistic Castigator now reads: “Flight When an opposing champion draws a card, they reveal it. This deals damage to them equal to that card’s cost.”
  • Sapper’s Charge now reads: “(2), Sacrifice this → This deals 2 damage to target champion or troop.”
  • Sliver of the Immortal Spear now reads: “[ACT] → Create a Sliver of the Immortal Spear and put it into your deck. Exhaust five Slivers of the Immortal Spear you control → This deals 5,000 damage to target champion.”
  • Spore Stalks now reads: “At the start of your turn, create a Spore Stalks and put it into play. At the end of your turn, this deals 1 damage to target opposing champion for each Plant you control.”
  • Turreted Wall now reads: “Defensive At the start of your turn, this deals 1 damage to each opposing champion.”
  • Volcannon now reads: “[ACT], Exhaust a Dwarf or Robot you control →This deals 3 damage to each opposing champion. Exhaust two Dwarves and/or Robots you control [ARROWR] Ready this.”

Gameplay – Modifiers are now permanent unless explicitly saying otherwise

  • Arcane Shield now reads: “Target troop gets Spellshield.”
  • Argus, Herald of Doom now reads: “Flight At the start of your turn, reveal Argus from your hand, and it gets cost -(1). [ACT] → Void target card.”
  • Assault Technician now reads: “When this enters play, create a War Bot and put it into play. (2) → Target Robot you control gets +1[ATK]/+0[DEF].”
  • Atrophy now reads: “Target troop gets -1[ATK]/-1[DEF]. Draw a card.”
  • Axe Bot now reads: “When this dies, target troop you control gets +2[ATK]/+0[DEF].”
  • Blood Aura now reads: “Target troop gets +1[ATK]/+1[DEF] and Lifedrain.”
  • Bravery now reads: “Target troop gets +1[ATK]/+1[DEF].”
  • Buccaneer now reads: “When this enters play, you may put target troop into its controller’s hand. If you do, it gets cost +(1).”
  • Captain of the Dragon Guard now reads: “When this enters play, you may put target troop in your graveyard on top of your deck. That troop gets +1[ATK]/+1[DEF].”

  • The Mushwocky now reads: “As The Mushwocky enters play, if it is hungry*, you may sacrifice any number of Shin’hare. The Mushwocky gets +3[ATK]/+3[DEF] for each Shin’hare sacrificed this way.”
  • Time Ripple now reads: “Put target card into its controller’s hand and it gets cost +(1).”
  • Wild Aura now reads: “Target troop gets +2[ATK]/+2[DEF] and Crush.”
  • Wild Root Dancer now reads: “When you play a resource, another target troop you control gets +2[ATK]/+2[DEF].”

Gameplay – Cosmetic Card Changes: Removing Card Type

  • Adaptable Infusion Device now reads: “When this enters play, choose a Standard resource from among those currently in your deck. Gain the threshold that resource provides. (4), Sacrifice this artifact → Draw a card.”
  • Ancestral Specter now reads: “Flight When this enters play, draw a card.”
  • Angel of Dawn now reads: “Flight, Steadfast [DIAMOND]: When you draw this, if it’s the first card you drew this turn, play it for free.”
  • Ascetic Aspirant now reads: “[ACT] → Transform this into an Enlightened Seeker.”
  • Avalanche Giant now reads: “[ACT], Choose and discard two cards → This deals 4 damage to target troop.”
  • Battle Beetle now reads: “SOCKETABLE MAJOR (2) → This gets Flight this turn.”
  • Bird o’ Plenty now reads: “Flight If damage would be dealt to this, draw that many cards instead.”
  • Blaze Elemental now reads: “Speed At the end of your turn, sacrifice this.”
  • Blood Cauldron Ritualist now reads: “Sacrifice another troop → This becomes 5[ATK]/5[DEF] this turn.”
  • Blood Savant now reads: “[BLOOD][BLOOD][BLOOD]: [BASIC] (1) → This gets +1[ATK]/+1[DEF] this turn.”
  • Bombsmith now reads: “When this enters play, it may deal 1 damage to target troop.”
  • Bone Warrior now reads: “When this dies, transform it into a Pile of Bones and put it into play.”
  • Booby Trap now reads: “If this would enter your hand or graveyard, void it, and it deals 4 damage to you instead.”
  • Bottled Vitae now reads: “[BASIC] (2), Sacrifice this → Gain 1 health, gain a charge, and draw a card.”
  • Brood Creeper now reads: “When this deals damage to an opposing champion, create a Spiderspawn and put it into play.”
  • Burning Skarn now reads: “When you play an action, this gets +2[ATK]/+2[DEF] this turn. At end of turn, if you played two or more actions this turn, transform this into a Hellfire Skarn.”
  • Carrion Blob now reads: “(1), [ACT] → Void up to three target troops in a graveyard. Gain 1 health for each troop voided this way.”
  • Chaos Key now reads: “[BASIC] (5), Void this → Void target card.”

  • Throat Cutter now reads: “This and other Orcs you control have Rage 1.”
  • Unmerciful Tormentor now reads: “While you have no cards in hand, this has +3[ATK]/+3[DEF].”
  • Wall of Corpses now reads: “Defensive This has +[DEF] equal to the combined [DEF] of troops in your graveyard.”

 

Known Issues:

  • Tiaanost should read “When Tiaanost deals damage to an opposing champion, void target opposing card and each opposing card with the same name in all zones.” This prevents Tiaanost from voiding herself.
  • Tournament pop-up reward screen at the conclusion of a tournament displays the packs won, but not the quantity of packs won. Players can go into their in-game mail to verify the quantity of packs received.
  • Mercenaries and Equipment are experiencing a display bug where some icons may not properly appear in the Inventory or Champion UI.
  • Players can’t filter for Shattered Destiny Booster Packs in the Auction House. Current work around is to use “set 002” to filter for Shattered Destiny Booster packs in the Auction House.
  • Kismet’s Reverie currently does not display the effect that is rewarded
  • Hero of Adamanth is not updating its attack and defense visually until the end of the turn
  • Double socketed cards currently only show a single socket glow in deck creation UI
  • Cards that target specific cards in the graveyard do not show the opponent the target
  • There are some instances where visually the stacking of cards can move things where they become unintuitive
  • The starter trial button does not currently switch states to indicate that you have started the starter trials
  • Eldon the Imprisoned can incorrectly transform after dealing damage with non-troop artifacts
  • When joining a constructed queue, the waiting lobby can incorrectly visually show the wrong deck being used
  • The thumbnail images for cards received from the Wheels of Fate currently don’t show, but you can still click the space to see the large card
  • Mail attachments don’t currently have tool tips
  • Overwriting an old deck with a new one can delete both decks
  • When you are selling an item in the Auction House, you currently don’t see the quantity of items you own until you interact with the screen
  • Cannon Volley does not resolve correctly when it is created by Chimes of the Zodiac
  • Tournament paring order visually can get disorganized during the third and subsequent rounds of a tournament
  • You cannot currently zoom on cards when they are revealed in the multiple pack opening UI
  • Opening booster packs too rapidly can cause various UI issues
  • You can incorrectly set all your hotkeys to the same key
  • The “Unblockable” keyword does not currently have a tool tip
  • Infiltrator Bot doesn’t graphically gain the “Unblockable” keyword when it is activated
  • Droo’s Unrelenting Fists do not enter play exhausted when created by Ingenuity Engine
  • Gold in the Tournament Lobby rewards details screen currently is shown as [GOLD] instead of the gold icon
  • When you drop any pack into Kismet’s Well, the image of the pack being opened will look like a Shards of Fate pack
  • Plant Garden, Incantation of Fear, and Incantation of Ascendance improperly retain their counters when they transform
  • Fissuresmith’s surfacing trigger appears multiple times on the chain, but the effect only resolves once
  • Peek does not work correctly if returned to a deck via Loregoyle
  • Air Elemental and Lightning Elemental PvE cards currently are not displaying their game text
  • There is currently a textual duplication of some of Air Superiority’s text
  • Shattered Destiny Mercenaries and Equipment do not currently display their images in the Auction House
